The Product Development Specialist is a Master Baker of Artisan breads – creativity, ingenuity, and passion define you. This role will work with each of our Artisan Bakeries here in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to develop new products through recipe design and implementation.

This individual will work with one of the world’s very best Artisan Master Baker – Marcus Mariathas.

•	Design and Develop new Artisan products for ACE Bakery.  
•	Conduct product trials, run development samples, and create initial product specifications; providing or sourcing information (product characteristics, costs, measurements, ingredients, bake time, case pack, distribution etc.).  
•	Oversee sample packing ensuring top quality product packed. 
•	Supervise product launches, ensuring recipes & specifications are followed by the Production team; training bakery staff on product specifications, verifying quality, troubleshooting where necessary.
•	Create costings for all new products.  Ensure all information is input into the Central Product Database (CPD). Maintain up to date recipes with all changes made. Communicate with all parties (Marketing, Customer Service, Logistics, and Procurement etc.) with specifications.
•	Investigate and recommend new ingredients and rationalization of current ingredients, maintain excellent relationships with suppliers.
•	Provide technical guidance to production and packing teams where process improvements/changes are required to maintain top quality product.
•	Conduct ad hoc checks of production/packing to ensure high standards are maintained.
•	Present and ‘sell’ products during customer tastings.
•	Keep abreast of the food / bakery trends such as baking techniques and packaging
•	Other related duties as assigned or required

•	Master Baker specializing with Artisan Breads and SourDough
•	Creative minded and a huge passion for baking
•	2 years experience working in an Industrialized Bakery
•	Strong understanding of the industrial baking process
•	Good communication skills in English (both oral and written)
•	Organized and can thrive under tight deadlines
